Mark got in
contact by email and has now become a member of the club. He
says: I've started a facebook group called.....international
magpie pigeon custodians. if you and any of the other club
members want to join it you are more than welcome. Thought it
might be a good place for magpie lovers to chat and communicate
with each other from around the world.
I've been
advertising on the net around my city of the gold coast and the
next biggest city 100 kilometers away, Brisbane for a hen magpie
but am finding it difficult to get one at the moment.
I'm always on
the lookout for things and books on magpie pigeons on ebay,
there isn't alot of information out there about the breed. I
really want to keep my racers going and also specialise in
magpie pigeons.
I collected a
rescue, yellow magpie from a loft about 200 kms away. The eldery
owner apparently had gone a bit senile and was forgetting to
feed and water his birds. The animal welfare RSPCA went there
and took out many dead birds and had to cull many I was told,
One of my pigeons friends who keeps many variety of fancy
pigeons who gave me my first magpie apparently went there and
rescued the yellow magpie he has given to me. Its extremely
light and in poor condition. Its quite a friendly bird,
Hopefully she will put on some meat over the next six months and
live a good life here at my loft.
